Here is more information about what the exam involves and why chiropractic care benefits people in need of a DOT exam in Redding.
Federal guidelines require all commercial drivers to pass a physical exam to obtain their commercial driver’s license (CDL) and must pass an exam every two years. During your DOT physical examination at Churn Creek Chiropractic, we will start by briefly reviewing your medical history and learning more about any current health conditions you’re experiencing.
From there, we will take a range of measurements, including your height, blood pressure, range of motion, breathing, and pulse rate to evaluate your overall physical health.
You will also require a vision test. With or without vision correction, each eye will be tested and both eyes combined must have 20/40 vision and you must be able to distinguish color.
A hearing exam is also a part of your DOT exam, and requires you to hear a forced whisper from a minimum of 5 feet away.
For information regarding blood pressure standards, visit the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Association web site!
